SINA reports Microsoft opened the online registration of Windows 8 upgrade

SINA, a China-based popular portal reported that Microsoft has opened the online registration of Windows 8 upgrade for new PC buyers earlier this week. Through Twitter, Microsoft has announced the Windows 7 upgrade starting this week. This implication only effective if user purchased of new Windows 7 PC after this year June 2, which allow user to get Windows 8 upgrade through online registration before January 31, 2013.
Latest promotional offer from Microsoft for user is upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8 Professional Edition when the PC is bought after Windows 8 released date on October 26 and before January 31, 2013 for US$69.99.
Furthermore, Los Angeles Times has published various ways to obtain Windows 8 with corresponding prices. Microsoft has other promotional offers including the US$39.99 upgrade to Windows 8 and the Windows 8 Professional Edition. The old PC, installed with previous operating systems such as Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 get a chance to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro through digital download. If the user wants a hard copy, Microsoft will charge additional US$15 for DVD version, effective until January 31, 2013.
